webinar: “European Best Practices in Knowledge, Awareness and Prevention of Unwanted Loneliness. How volunteering can help?”

This is an initiative of the KORALE Community of Practice | Lisboa Com Vida, which aims to share knowledge about projects and initiatives taking place in Lisbon and Europe, within the scope of the KORALE Project, co-financed by the European Union’s Interreg Europe program.

Three projects will be presented:
The Always Accompanied, a community program created by the La Caixa Foundation and developed by the Campo Grande Parish Social Center, which aims to prevent and reduce loneliness and social isolation among the elderly through regular and meaningful companionship. It promotes stable and long-term relationships between beneficiaries and trained volunteers, fostering trust, emotional support and a sense of belonging.
The Support 65+ Programme – Elderly in Safety is a special community policing program of the Public Security Police (PSP) that aims to ensure the safety and tranquility of the elderly, promote awareness of the work of the Security Forces and help prevent and avoid risky situations.
– And Local Volunteer Matching, which explores how a local volunteer policy and a connecting platform can help with local engagement, well-being, and combating loneliness. Here, we explore how the Giveaday.eu project connects 200,000 Belgian citizens to help their neighbours and how 12,000 associations cooperate in 80 Belgian cities.

Speakers will include:
– Mário Rui André, Coordinator of the Lisbon a City for All Ages Program | Moderator
– Margarida Quinhones, Coordinator of the Always Accompanied
– Inês Lemos, Public Security Police Commissioner
– Bart Wolput, Director of Giveaday project

The webinar will be held in English.
After registration, an email with the access link will be sent.
